ஆறாம் அறிவு - Sixth Sense
Through this poem, I express my thoughts on the unwary role humans play in nature. Despite possessing the so-called sixth sense, are our actions and behaviours any better than those which don’t?
Like a flower which cannot express objection, like an insect which is troublesome to others, we as humans too dwell the same way.
உனக்கு
அழகைக் கொடுத்த இறைவன்,
அறிவைக் கொடுக்கவில்லை;
கொடுத்திருந்தால் - நீ
அனுமதி இன்றி எவரையும் உனை
அணுக விட்டிருக்க மாட்டாய்…
ஐயோ!
நான் உன்னைச் சொல்லவில்லை,
அந்த மலர்களைச் சொன்னேன்.
பாவம்!
உன்
ஆசைக் கேற்ற உருவைக்கொடுத்த இறைவன்...
அறிவைக் கொடுக்கவில்லை;
கொடுத்திருந்தால் - நீ
மற்றவர்கள் நிம்மதியாகவாழ இடமளித்திருப்பாய்.
ஐயோ!
இங்கும் நான் உன்னைச் சுட்ட வில்லை,
அந்த அறிவற்ற ஈக்களைத் திட்டினேன்.
நான்
அவற்றிற்கு போய் உன்னை ஒப்பிடுவேனா?
நீ ஆறறிவு படைத்தவன் ஆயிற்றே!
அதை சிறிதளவேனும் உபயோகித்திருக்க
வேண்டாமா?
ஹும்…
நீ உபயோகித்திருந்தால் அறிந்திருப்பாய்
நான் அங்கு உன்னை விளிக்க வில்லை
என்பதை;
ஏனென்றால் அவை உன் போல
ஆறறிவு கொண்டவை அல்லவே
அவற்றிற்கு அறிவு இருந்திருந்தால்...
நீ!
அவற்றிற்கு இணையாக மாட்டாய்.
அதனால்,
கலங்காதே;
என்றும் நானுன்னை
அவற்றிற்கு இணையாக ஒப்பிட முயல மாட்டேன்.
நீ!
ஆறறிவு கொண்டவனாயிற்றே
இயன்றால் புரிந்து கொள்.
நீயாக!
He who gave you beauty,
If he had - you
Wouldn’t have let anyone approach
You without your consent…
Oh no!
I didn’t mean you,
I meant those flowers.
Pity!
He who gave you your shape
As you wish…
Didn’t give you knowledge:
If he had - you
Would’ve let others live in peace.
Oh no!
I didn’t scold you here too,
I meant those foolish fruit flies.
Will I compare them with you?
For you are gifted with the sixth sense!
Shouldn’t you have used it at least a little?
Hmm…
If you had you would’ve known that
I didn’t mean you there
For they don’t have six senses
As you do
If they had…
Still you wouldn’t be equal to them.
So,
Fret not;
Never shall I try
To compare them with you.
You who have the sixth sense
Understand it.
Yourself!
Humans are the only species which have the privilege to make a ‘choice’, a choice to act or not. A privilege to be redefined? The Sixth Sense.
