APPRENTICE Session 2

Apprentice is a Professional Development workshop which is organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa to aid undergraduates to develop and enhance skills on professional development, decision making and management. It’s a perfect opportunity for undergraduates to get an inspiration from interesting and evolving artist and a role model for a more ideal world. It is a context to make their future goals and walk for them on their way. It will be a golden opportunity for undergraduates to cultivate and enhance their professional skills.

 

Apprentice 2015/16 pace 2 was successfully held in SLEDB (Sri Lanka Export Development Board), No. 42, Navam Mawatha, Colombo 2 by Mr. Bandula Egodage (CE & Chairman of SLEDB, Vice President Corporate Affairs & Communications of Nestle Lanka PLC). Throughout the session he was able to show his maturity as a top class sophisticated professional in our country. He made us believe we must never regret in our lives, also added that if we do a mistake in our lives we have to repay for it somehow. “What were the obstacles you faced in your life sir?” that was question, he smiled and answered “obstacle is kind of a challenge”. Sharing his own story Mr. Egodage said he started his professional life as a Sales Rep and he never asked for promotions/titles in his life. Further he explained do your best and let other people judge you. End of the session token of appreciation was given him for sharing his valuable experiences and professional knowledge with us.

The majority of the participants were level 1 undergraduates alone with one level 2 undergraduate of Engineering Faculty. The project was held under the guidance of Rtr. Chirath Hettiarachchi and Rtr. Waruna Rasanga, the co-directors of Professional Development Avenue of Rotaract Mora. The session was held successfully and the participants were motivated immensely. The project was chaired by Rtr. Sahan Jayawardana and Rtr. Isuru Tharanga.
