Tis the season to love and give - Christmas wishes from Rotaract Mora
Written by Rtr. Shenali Kariyawasam
Bells are chiming, echoing the joy of Christmas. Shades of evergreen, snow white and heart red adorn the streets and windowsills. Walking by, you catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. Voice of laughter and overwhelming happiness reflects through homes and shops. Nights are as bright as day with trees illuminated, every corner dressed with garlands, candles, candy canes and wreaths. Families reunite, friends are redefined. Carts are filled and kids rejoice with handful of toys.
Far away up above the starry blanket, a star shines so bright – searching the streets, shops, homes and hearts. The star glows and sparkles brighter than ever, still searching for us shepherds to show its way towards the manger – the manger where our Savior is born – to guide us towards the true spirit of Christmas.
John 1:9-10 says, The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
The true spirit of Christmas starts from within us – the moment we allow ‘The true light’ – the light of the Holy Spirit to kindle our hearts with Love, Compassion and the Holy Will of God. A heart full of Love is a heart full of Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas lies in our deeds and the little words of encouragement and empowerment we share and bestow upon family, friends and innocent souls who yearn for love.
Christmas is the season to reach – the season to touch each other’s hearts – the season to give – to get – the season to forgive and to forget. It’s the season to reunite and redefine friendships and relationships. Christmas is not bounded by a timeframe. As long as we let the fires of love to ignite in our hearts it’s the Noel of Jesus Christ.
Christmas is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.
Beneath the hustle and bustle of the festive season, there is the true beauty of reaching and touching the loved ones. May this beauty and joy lift you up this Christmas. May you be blessed with God’s Choicest Blessings.
