Guide to success - Mentor Phase 3

Rotaract is run by a set of budding professionals. Therefore, we Rotaractors consider professional development as an important aspect. Letting the members sharpen their set of skills and letting them develop themselves to greater standards through Rotaract have always been the intention of our clubs.

Therefore, Mentor 3, a professional development project of Rotaract Club of NSBM was successfully held on 5th of October at NSBM Management Study Area providing a platform for the members to have a worthwhile discussion and learn from true professionals while fastening the bonds between the Rotaract and Interact clubs.

The career guidance workshop featured a discussion with Mr. Ronnie Peiris, Chief Financial Officer at John Keells Holdings. The Speaker explained his philosophy on success in a very open, humble manner without leaving any doubts.

According to him, success should not be a relative measurement and success is unique to each and every one. He is a strong believer of the fact that being financially sound is not success.

Apart from that, he structured his whole life story around few main factors. First one is ‘Be the Best in whatever you do’ which happened to be my personal favourite. Next one was ‘do the right thing every time’ and he backed that fact with few of his life stories. The atmosphere of the session was arranged in way which encouraged the participants to reach the speaker for clarifications and it is safe to admit that the session ended with success.
