My 2023

Blogged Bliss Mar 09, 2024

Hi! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I invite you to explore the tapestry of my past year. It's a vibrant weave of threads, some shimmering with joy, others imbued with the quiet ache of sorrow, but all intricately woven into the silk fabric of who I am today.

The warmth of that memory still fills me with a radiant glow, reminding me of the beauty life holds. As the year 2023 began with New Year's Eve, my heart was filled with deep joy. Starting a new chapter of my life with the love of my life is more than a blessing, it's a privilege. Despite our differences, my family holds a special place in my heart, and I always admire being around them. We talk, smile, and even argue, but our bond remains unbreakable.

In a mere two months, I was able to bring a ray of hope into the lives of families who were severely impacted by the economic crisis. During my volunteer work, I had the privilege of meeting many beautiful souls who were deeply grateful for the assistance provided.

Life can be compared to a boat sailing on the ocean, and you are the sailor who determines whether the journey will be successful or not. As I entered the University of Moratuwa, I felt like I was embarking on a new level of my life, filled with hope and excitement.

In the beginning, university friends tend to travel a lot which helps in strengthening their bond. However, with time, everyone becomes busy in their own lives and runs towards their targets. Consequently, some friendships fade away with time. However, some friendships remain unchanged throughout the years. Meeting peers that match the same energy level and craziness creates a unique level of friendship that lasts forever. Spilling tea and delulu talks brings our friendship to another level. At first glance, I look like an introvert, but if I find my comfort zone around you, then I will be the most extroverted and nonstop-talkative person you will ever meet. However, you can't replace your school friendship, to report our current dramatic lives we tend to meet each other as we find free time.

The ache of loss remains, a tender spot in my heart, but it's also a reminder of the love and preciousness of what I held dear. The pain of losing my beloved dog, "ACE", still lingers and it has left a tender spot in my heart. However, it also serves as a reminder of the love and preciousness of what I held dear. ACE passed away after his 6th birthday, even though he was healthy and a good boy whom we treated like our own family. He loved to play wrestling with me and my brother, and always followed and sat beside us when we talked. Sometimes it feels like a dream about his loss, but we still feel his scent and presence. Although I have four small kittens that I adore, I still miss ACE terribly. Our house used to be a heaven with a dog and four kittens, but now it's not the same and only four angles have left behind.

As we approach the end of 2023, let's take a moment to reflect on the memories that have shaped us throughout the year. Whether they were joyful or sorrowful, these experiences have helped to create a rich tapestry of life. By sharing our own stories and weaving them together, we can remind ourselves that we're not alone in this journey. Let's embrace all of life's moments and appreciate the beauty they bring to our lives.

With heartfelt reflections,
Pawani Uthpalawanna.
