Our Desire Is their Future

Education is a treasure in one’s life. We may have all sources of knowledge to educate ourselves. But have we thought about how another child learns?

Every child is not fortunate enough to go to a school where you have immense facilities to learn. Sometimes they may not have proper books to study or teachers to educate them. A child who doesn’t have enough space or enough books might be a child who is even more intelligent than us. It is not a secret that these children can achieve the highest achievements than other students. Their imaginations are endless.

Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.

John Dewey

Nena Aruna felt the thoughts and wishes of these little hearts. It is one of the virtuous projects headed by Rotaract Mora under the avenue of Community Service. Our investment meets the sky to nurture the young minds who dream to be the giants of the future. From Nena Aruna, we observed our prime duty by establishing a massive educational project that contains a series of sub-projects including many series of seminars for students of grades 10 and 11 to sharpen up their knowledge and to improve their results in the G.C.E Ordinary Level examination. As our first step, we initiated a seminar series on Mathematics for the students at chosen schools in different regions including Panadura, Matale, Kurunegala, Malabe and Galle as well as at SOS Children’s Village, Piliyandala, and they were successfully conducted by our compassionate members.

Nena Aruna is not just a project. Through it, we were able to make a positive impact about education on the minds of the students. Most students neglect their studies thinking that it’s difficult to understand. But Nena Aruna made their minds feasible and more interested in education.

Real education should consist of drawing the goodness and the best out of our students. What better books can there be than the book of humanity?

Cesar Chavez

Well, our journey is boundless. It flows throughout the year flourishing the curious minds around Sri Lanka. Nena Aruna will continue to grow with the upcoming seminar series in selected schools in the imminent future.
