What’s more enjoyable? University life or Corporate life? You may surely say it’s university life. When you ask from an undergraduate about their opinion on corporate culture, the majority will add that it’s stressful. People may feel desperate or stressful because they haven’t prepared for it properly.

Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa, together with the Career Guidance Unit headed a series of preparatory sessions for ‘Are You Ready? 2019’, the official career fair of the university. The Career Coach is an initiative which directs the talented undergraduates on how to make the corporate environment full of experiences while learning the tips and hints to win every hurdle without any fear.

This groundbreaking event was held on the 15th of October 2019 at the university premises from 5 pm onwards with a houseful of curious undergraduates who are just about to step into the corporate world and to live their future dream. The event progressed with the panel discussions conducted by the Executive Vice President of John Keels Group-  Mr. Hishan Singhawansa, Global HR Professional at Unilever Sri Lanka- Ms. Nadeesha Wijesingha, Chief Product Owner at LSEG Technology- Mr. Dilina Fernando and the Chief Executive Officer at Brandix Fast Fashion – Mr. Asanka Wimalaratna.

The session was in a limelight with the honorable guests when students gained the opportunity to listen to their life experiences on how they did their best to run the race and face the challenges. Each life experience hid a triumphant smile and the students were impressed. It was a remarkable moment where the undergraduates could clarify their issues about corporate behavior with a Q & A session which was headed after the discussions.

In a nutshell, this session guided the students about stress management, how to keep balance while working and also the major peaks on how to climb the corporate ladder.

Career Coach 2019 concluded successfully by nurturing these young minds full of dreams and lessons with the ultimate objective to make every undergraduate a great leader in the future.
