As told by Rtr. Pavithra Madhubhashini,
Every undergraduate chases a dream of being a qualified professional in their lives. To reach the pinnacle of professionalism, the first and foremost step is to win the first impression of the employer. Presenting a proper curriculum vitae in the standard format is the secret behind achieving this desire.
Realizing this burning requirement, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit organizes “The Resume” , as the first session of Are You Ready? every year. Marking the inception of “Are You Ready?- 2017” , “The Resume” was successfully held on 19th of October 2017 at the Civil Auditorium of the university premises with a remarkable audience.
“The Resume” was organized with the aim to empower the undergraduates with the proficiency of making a well-written CV which is the first professional image that reflects themselves to the corporate world. It is one of the leading factors that makes a strong first impression on the employer about the undergraduates.
The session was enlightened by an eminent speaker Mr. Gayan Garusinghe, Associate Business Consultant of MIT through an informative explanation on the important areas to be considered in making a resume. He revealed the main points a Curriculum Vitae should include, the number of pages to be attached and the important areas that would grasp the attention of the employer. In addition a special focus was given to the common mistakes done when making a CV.
Thus we believe The Resume session marked its finale with extreme success through expanding the horizons of undergraduates, especially the passing out batch of University of Moratuwa giving a golden experience in building their career path with a professional flavor.
