Gathering for Christmastide - Christmas Party ’18
As told by Rtr. Sajani Senadheera
It’s the time for a change, time for some fun and laughter… It’s Christmas!
To join with that laughter of glee, we the family of Rotaractors gathered around once again on the cheerful night of 25th December 2018 to celebrate the birth of the Jesus Christ who spread the word of love, peace and forgiving to the whole universe. With the completion of another victorious year, it was high time for celebrations and triumph. This year it was quite differently celebrated at the homely suite of the Ceylon Safari lodge.
“Christmas is not an external event at all, but a piece of one’s home that one carries in one’s heart.”
It’s a reminder that we are here for something else besides ourselves. Nothing is more precious than the bond, the relationship and the affection between each other. All we need sometimes are some friends and colleagues to join together and laugh out to your heart’s content. The night created that setting where members could get to know each other well and bond with new intimacy while strengthening up the existing bonds. With the recent amity of the Ceylon Safari troop, the celebration was already perfected.
As a tradition, this year too the Rotaractors exposed their kind-heartedness and loyalty by exchanging gifts with each other. Secret Santa has always been the most exciting moment of the night and also the most fun-filled hour. The curiosity and the enthusiasm of the members were reflecting on their urge to unwrap the presents in their hands.
After all, it’s not what’s under the tree that matters, it’s who’s gathered around it. It’s always about the people who are close to us and letting them know how much they mean to us even once in a while. Loyalty is what binds us; it’s what makes the Rotaractors strong in their journey together. As a result, at the end of this fun-filled night, we took another step towards strengthening the unity of the family of Rotaract Mora.
“To get the full joy of Christmas you must have someone to divide it with.” – Mark Twain
The celebrations concluded at midnight with the indulgence of being with the heartiest family of Rotaract and sharing the true value of friendship.
