Some journeys begin with an idea, but the most memorable ones end with a story worth telling.

Being crowned Champions at Brand in a Box, the Inter University Marketing Competition organized by the Department of Marketing Management, University of Colombo, at the Colombo Marketers Forum 2026 was one such unforgettable journey for us.

Representing the Department of Management of Technology, Faculty of Business, University of Moratuwa, I had the privilege of competing other university teams along with my incredible team, Warsha Julige, Dhahamya Dunuwila, Chamindu Sithumina, Sakiru Bandaranayake, and Vinma Mandawala.

Our challenge was to rethink, rebrand, and restructure Nature’s Secrets products. What initially seemed like a competition soon became an opportunity to explore how creativity, strategy, consumer insights, and teamwork can come together to create meaningful business solutions.

From brainstorming ideas to refining our strategy, preparing our presentation, and standing before the judges, every stage challenged us to think differently. More importantly, it allowed us to step outside the boundaries of the classroom and apply what we have learned as Management of Technology undergraduates to a real marketing challenge.

The moment our team was announced as the Champions was truly special. Beyond the excitement of winning, there was an immense sense of pride in knowing that we had brought the championship home to Mother Mora while representing our department on an inter university platform.

It was especially meaningful to achieve this for the Department of Management of Technology after a long time. This victory is not just about a trophy. It represents countless discussions, late preparations, shared ideas, challenges, laughter, and most importantly, the trust we placed in one another as a team.

I am deeply grateful to my teammates for making this journey so memorable and to everyone who supported us along the way.

Brand in a Box gave us much more than a championship. It gave us experience, confidence, friendships, and memories that will stay with us for years to come.
